Fall protection is required whenever fixed protective measures (such as fences or railings) are not in place and there is a risk of falling from a height greater than 2 meters—or from a lower height if the fall could result in injury. Protection must also be used when working within 2 meters of a crest under the same conditions.
INSTALLATION AND SAFETY
The safety post must be installed in a borehole so that the anchoring point is positioned perpendicular to the hazard area. The borehole must not contain a detonator or bottom charge. To connect to the post, the user must utilize inspected personal fall protection equipment, such as a certified safety harness combined with a rope or retractable fall arrester suitable for the application.
