With new features for earlier module generations
FORCIT’s charging modules designed for underground charging, known as ECMs (Emulsion Charging Module), have now reached their third generation. These ECM3 modules combine the best Nordic solutions to ensure high-quality underground charging. The equipment has been developed based on best practices from Finland, Sweden, and Norway, with strong consideration for customer experience.
While all new underground charging units are ECM3 solutions, several features from these top-tier modules have also been introduced to earlier ECM and ECM2 generations, of which dozens are still in use across the Nordic region. Examples of these improvements include new functionalities in the control system, data transfer capabilities, and perhaps most importantly, enhanced control of matrix sensitization. With the ECM3 solution, the sensitization process can be easily managed regardless of prevailing conditions, without the need for additives such as acid. The desired target density is always achieved within the same timeframe.
In Finland, existing ECM charging modules will be updated accordingly as they are moved to new tunnel projects.

What is the ECM3 charging module suitable for?
The ECM3 charging module is designed for underground charging operations. It is based on best practices developed in Finland, Sweden, and Norway and is suitable for a wide range of underground blasting and charging applications.
What are the benefits of introducing ECM3 features to earlier equipment generations?
Features developed for the ECM3 solution, such as the upgraded control system, data transfer capabilities, and improved emulsion sensitisation control, can also be utilised in older ECM and ECM2 units. These upgrades help ensure consistent control of the charging process under varying operating conditions.
