Fordyn\u2019s characteristics make it particularly suitable as a base charge for open-cut mining, underwater charging, channelling and for blasting in populated areas. Cartridges with diameter larger than 43 mm are suitable to be used as boosters for bulk explosives, such as ANFO and Kemiitti explosives, due to their high detonation pressure.
